The number of elderly people grows in Finland. The key goal of the project is the development of the autonomy of home care nurses and practical home care nurses as well as the clients. The right technological solutions, digital tools and guidance support the quality and autonomy of the service. Utilizing them is a requirement for the service system’s ability to meet the growing demand and know-how is a requirement for employment.



Work packages

1: The operating environment, tools and know-how enhance the customer's ability to function, security and

independence. Customer interviews identify the need for technology utilization, opportunities, service experiences and support needs.

2 and 3: The expertise of nurses and practical nurses in the use of technology and digital environment allows

increased autonomy in their work: Designing and piloting the contents of wellbeing technology and digital operating environment and reporting the impact of the results.

4: The operating environment, processes and digital solutions support employee autonomy, improve work

management and performance: Resolving issues in work, systems, procedures and model the process of deploying a

new solution. Develop digital education and technology exploiting environments and pedagogical solutions.

5: Executive- and teamwork enable the autonomy of the employee and the team: Developing a model of team and

supervisory work based on a survey, carrying out related personnel training and supporting information systems.

Customer experience is utilized in the assessment.

6: Exploiting customer experience and knowledge and managing the service package will improve service and

generate cost savings: Develop a model for producing and utilizing customer feedback to support the development of teamwork and services.

7: Information management objectives: Information management is developed to strengthen the utilization of

knowledge and to produce operational models that enhance work autonomy and process performance: Pilot the

operating model in three teams, select digital solutions supporting autonomy and leadership, and evaluate the

development and cost implications of work autonomy. The project produces knowledge and know-how about the benefits of technology and digitalization based services for elderly people and the autonomy of employees. The project generates digital solutions and information about cost effects that support service processes, leadership and executive- and teamwork. The enhancement of autonomy improves service quality and the wellbeing of customers.
