KymiRing Innovation Ecosystem

The main objective of the project is to find out how to create and strengthen KymiRing innovation ecosystem by

research and development work. In the first phase of the project, stakeholders take part in benchmarking in order to

explore interesting research & development co-operation models between motor racing circuits and higher education.

After that, the benchmarking information will be analyzed and a co-operating model will be described. In the next

phase, the co-operating model will be tested with companies, development organizations, and higher education

organizations. In the last phase of the project, a roadmap on how to achieve a successful collaborate model for the

KymiRing innovation ecosystem will be developed.

In all project measures, equality, as well as gender differences will be taken into account. Motorsports are traditionally male-dominated, but, e.g, increasingly more female drives are active in racing. Also, the number of female spectators are growing. When analyzing and benchmarking RDI-activities, companies run by females and males are involved. It is the assumption that female and male entrepreneurs have different needs and views on needed RDI-activities. The equal opportunities for SME-companies will be created in order to cooperate within the project. In order to find the most future-oriented ideas, all RDI-actors and companies are encouraged to cooperation without gender-specific prejudice and to forget gender-based generalization.

The project emphasizes in all its actions the need to develop circular economy. The project supports all RDI actors and activities to find new ways to utilize recycled materials and promotes sustainability and low-carbon economy.
