REHOME - novel furniture solutions for temporary housing and emergency accommodation

In “REHOME - novel furniture solutions for temporary housing and emergency accommodation” project rapid furniture solutions for temporary housing and emergency accommodation are designed through multidisciplinary research and product development cooperation. The goal is to promote their commercialization, which can create new business and employment possibilities for Lahti region export and bio-based industry in particular. To reach this goal global humanitarian business innovation network and SME value chain is created in Lahti region during the project.



The project has four work packages: WP1 Product development and concepts, WP2 Recognition of business potential, WP3 Creation of innovation network and SME value chain and WP4 Marketing and promotion.



As a result there will be a tested, customized furniture range tailored for different customer segments as well as a local SME value chain to produce temporary housing and emergency accommodation solutions for the growing markets in Europe and Middle East. The project will also produce background studies and reports regarding humanitarian business. In addition promotion and marketing actions are targeted towards international partners and suppliers.
