Open University of Applied Sciences studies

LAB University of Applied Sciences offers Open University of Applied Sciences (Open UAS) studies free of charge until December 31, 2024, to persons who have been granted temporary protection by the Finnish Immigration Service.

How to get a discount code to the online shop?

Send a copy of the decision of the granted temporary protection by the Finnish Immigration Service to avoinamkatlab [dot] fi and ask for a discount code. After checking your right to study free of charge, we will send you the discount code by email.

There are a limited amount of places available for each course. The places are allocated on a first come first serve basis.

The study right to complete non-degree studies

LAB University of Applied Sciences can grant the study right to complete non-degree studies to persons who have been granted temporary protection by the Finnish Immigration Service while their degree studies have been suspended at the Ukrainian higher education institution due to war.

The right of completion may be granted for certain courses or study modules for a limited period of time.

Attach a copy of the decision of the granted temporary protection by the Finnish Immigration Service to the application form.

If you have access to your degree certificate and/or transcript of records (or any other relevant study documents) please, attach a copy/copies of them to the form.

This study right does not give you the right to complete a degree at LAB University of Applied Sciences. The right to complete a degree can be applied for via our admission procedure

The application period is ongoing until the end of 2024. No fees will be charged for non-degree studies.

A maximum of 60 students can be granted the right to complete non-degree studies. The applications are processed in the order in which they are received. 

Study rights will be granted based on applicants’ prior academic performance and the compatibility of their earlier studies with those offered by LAB  University of Applied Sciences. Applicants are expected to be fluent in English.

The applications will not be processed during summer break in July.
