Bachelor of Culture and Arts graduates gain a wide range of skills in the world of design. There are two different options to choose from: Industrial Design and Packaging and Brand Design.

Industrial Design

Graduates work as designers of products, product related services and user interfaces in different businesses and the manufacturing industry. They can be employed at design and engineering companies. Industrial designers are well employed both in Finland and internationally, many as entrepreneurs.

Learning will take place in real-life assignments and projects. Cooperation with local and international businesses ensures that the content of the studies is up to date and the professional networking possibilities are outstanding.

State-of-the-art facilities at the Lahti campus ensure that students can utilise a multitude of methods and modern equipment in their design work.

The first year of study is online. This means students can complete their 1st and 2nd semester of studies even from abroad. The second year of studies includes a lot of hands-on work and attendance on campus is required.

Packaging and Brand Design

In the Bachelor's Degree Programme in Packaging and Brand Design, students learn to design packaging and brand materials for businesses and industry. Creative problem solving and teamwork skills are at the core of the studies.

The programme strongly emphasises graphic design and the application of industrial design methods to packaging and brands. Graduates can work in the packaging industry, advertising, brand development, design companies or retail. Internationally, the packaging industry is a versatile, major employer. Finnish packaging know-how is at the top of the game worldwide.
